Nigerian Insurance Association to Organise ICT Fair

The Nigerian Insurance Association (NIA) in collaboration with Private Media Mart is
looking at improving the Nigerian Insurance sector through the deployment of ICT
tools and applications via an Insurance Technology workshop and exhibition fair
(InTech) slated for September 4 2008, at the Golden Gate Restaurant, Ikoyi, Lagos,
Nigeria. This move was made known at a Media Briefing in Lagos during the week

Speaking with members of the press, Ejiofor Agada, CEO of Private Media Mart said
that “the idea of the (InTech) workshop is to continuously showcase the technologies
suitable for the insurance sector as well as explain the inherent advantages and
features of the solutions and services to their target markets”

The one day workshop / fair is meant to be a bridge between players in the insurance
sector and technology service providers to explore green areas and to learn about
the latest ICT developments and solutions in the industry.

These shall be the major thrust of the workshop; however, other topical issues
affecting the insurance sector shall be addressed like regulation, e- insurance,
enterprise solutions, security and fraud and communications solutions.

Although, the Nigerian insurance industry is gradually picking up ICT wise, it is
hoped that the fair shall be an exposition into the current happenings in the
industry and improve it further.
